Overdub setupcompensation needed
Overdubs need this device's measured playback-to-microphone delay. Use speakers at a moderate level and run the timing check five times, then the 5-minute drift check. Or enter a compensation value you have already reviewed. Calibration audio is discarded.
Experimental K4 measurement. Select Check input first.
No tape in the deck.
Press Record to start a new tape, or load one from the shelf below. Audio stays in this browser and can be downloaded at any time.
The shelf
Ejected tapes wait here. Pull a case off the shelf to read or relabel it, then load it back into the deck to keep working.
The shelf fills as you eject tapes or start new ones.
Use it without a network.
Quick start
Save this file as index.html, open it in a modern browser, select Check input, grant microphone access, and press Record. If direct file access blocks the microphone, serve this same unchanged file from localhost or HTTPS.
Recording integrity
Audio chunks are committed progressively to this browser's IndexedDB. Do not clear site data before downloading recordings you want to keep. Interrupted committed chunks are offered on restart where the browser preserves the same file origin.
Audio limits
ROOM8 requires browser-declared voice processing off and reports actual settings. Laptop/OEM effects may still occur before the browser. Playback boost never changes stored or downloaded source audio.
